Website and feed optimization
Introduction
One of the core functionalities of FlashBeing is aggregation. The platform is abile to grab and combine into multiple groups of sources contents coming from RSS, Atom, Connected Web Feeds and more.

When a user pastes a link into FlashBeing, the platform downloads and interpretates the linked page, grabs the link of the feed, downloads it and parses its contents. See architecture's info for more.

If FlashBeing isn’t able to find a feed from the linked website, the user will be notified that the website can't be followed, although, the website will be recorded into FlashBeing's databases and the owner of the domain will be able to verify it and then admin it on FlashBeing.
Requirements
FlashBeing supports the following feed formats:
The largest CM platforms offer native RSS or Atom feeds support already for many years. Visit this page on Wikipedia for more.

Another requirement for FlashBeing is the download speed of the feed. Please be aware that if your feed takes more than 2 seconds to be downloaded it may be blocked.

To verify the speed of your website use the tool Feed Tester
How an user can follow a website
Websites (feeds) can be followed in three main different ways:
  • The user pastes the link into FlashBeing's search engine and clicks the follow button.
  • From "Settings > Groups of sources > "Open a group" > Add a source" the user cliks on "Add website" and pastes the link of the website to be followed.
  • The user searches a website using the search engine and clicks the follow button. This works only if the website has been already indexed in FlashBeing. To index a new website it's necessary to add it as described in setp one or two.

To make your website easy discoverable, please make sure it's already indexed.
